BACK FROM FILMING ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES
I wanted to share a few 'special moments' with you which I enjoyed back home in Africa whilst filming ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES.
This was an amazing moment!
One of the most spiritually uplifting moments during the filming of ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES was visiting Khayelitsha in Cape Town with James Fernie of Uthando South Africa (Love).
Uthando South Africa (Love) offers scheduled Field Trips enabling benefactors and donors to visit the projects they fund. Visits take place on a non-commercialized, authentic, and interactive basis with a view to a genuine and meaningful interaction. Various projects are visited on a periodic basis and will at no time be turned into tourist attractions. A unique feature of these scheduled Field Trips is that the proceeds go back into the community via the projects being visited and financed.
It was great to film a scheduled Field Trip, which you can see on ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES.
This shot was taken at a day care center for children.

This shot was taken after an energetic performance from the members of Volcano Arts Project, a project that presents moving drama productions, aimed at creating social awareness around issues in the community.

I wanted to share a few 'special moments' with you which I enjoyed back home in Africa whilst filming ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES.
This was an amazing moment!
One of the most beautiful spots on the planet is the 'Panorama Route' in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. It is an aesthetically beautiful part of the world and the last time I visited the region was when I was in Standard 8 at high school . . . that was 1972 . . . 38 years later, it remains as beautiful as ever. It was great to take a short break from filming and stop for a while at the Lisbon Falls where this shot was taken.

Since I relocated to the United States of America from South Africa in 1995, I have seen these friends of mine only once! Rudi and Pam Konings and I go back to our 20’s when we all lived in Pretoria – South Africa. At the time, Rudi was working for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in Pretoria and I was running my own travel company called The Travel Consultant.
They had their first daughter, Lauren, in Pretoria. I the very proud godfather of Lauren who recently became married.
Rudi, Pam and I, together with the ANOTHER COUNTRY THROUGH MY EYES film crew had an incredible lunch at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town.
